GT50 Adjustable Ionic Air Purifier – Safely Kill Germs & Odors
When you are looking for the best of something, it is always a safe bet to see what is being imitated the most. When it comes to these handy little adjustable ionic air purifiers, the success of the GreenTech Environmental GT50 has attracted plenty of cheap imitators.
The GT50 ionic air purifier has enjoyed years of success in the marketplace without needing to go back to the drawing board. It does what it does, and it does it well. The adjustable aspect of this model has been part of its success because the user decides on the rate of air purification required.
The GT50 plugs directly into your power outlet, then switched on by the adjustable dial on the side. This ionic air purifier doesn’t just produce negative ions (read more about air ionizers here), but it also produces safe levels of the powerful germ killer, ozone (activated oxygen).
The rate of ozone production can be easily adjusted by the user depending on the situation. For controlling mold in a small ‘wet’ area, prolonged use with a low rate of ozone flow should do the trick. On the other hand, to get rid of a ‘random’ bad smell, plug in this bad boy near the affected area on a high rate of flow for a while and it will clear it up in no time (and it won’t come back!). Well, it seems to kill anything with a nasty name. One name that jumps out at me is E-coli. The GT50 is reported to kill E-coli 3,000 times faster than chlorine (another thing you probably don’t want too much of around your home). The list goes on of course. Will kill mold and mildew, which is a great solution for bathrooms and laundries – especially for the tile grout!

So, what about the price tag? Well, the Gt50 ionic air purifier comes in at just under $54 delivered from Amazon. The manufacturer says this unit is good for a small room, around 50 sq feet – BUT, this doesn’t mean you need to buy a whole bunch to fill up your house.
Best to just try one at first, you may find you can use it intermittently between rooms as needed to get the desired effect. If you have a bathroom or ‘wet’ area which needs mold control, it will need to be a fixture in that room – so if you need the rest of the house covered, at most get two to begin with.
